(ANS- Rome) - There is less than a week to the opening of the 34th Salesian Family Spirituality Days. From next Thursday, 14 January until Sunday 17 January, the Salesianum in Rome will be filled, as usual, with representatives of the 30 groups of the Salesian Family, called to reflect on the Strenna of the Rector Major. This year the theme will be: “WITH JESUS, we journey together in an adventure of the Spirit."

The first day will be devoted to a reflection on what it means to be pilgrims on a journey of adventure. The speaker will be Fr Francesco Di Natale, SDB, professor of pastoral theology. He will examine the issue from the anthropological, biblical, theological and ecclesiological points of view.

On the second day the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will explain the message of the Strenna for 2016. Sister Maria Ko, FMA, professor of Sacred Scripture, will give a talk on Mary as an icon of the pilgrim Church guided by the Spirit. In the afternoon, Fr Bruno Ferrero, SDB, will examine the figure of Don Bosco as a modern life coach. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the testimony of three models of Salesian holiness: Alberto Marvelli, Fr Joseph Quadrio and Mamma Margaret.

On Saturday morning, there will be a sharing of testimonies of the interior life and spiritual life, and Fr Rossano Sala, SDB, will guide the assembly in a community faith experience of journeying. The main item in the afternoon will be a prayer celebration on the theme of the Extraordinary Jubilee, and there will also be time for group work.  

On Sunday, there will be an oportunity to sum up all that went before and the Rector Major, in his closing address, will indicate some guidelines for the journey of the Salesian Family.
