(ANS - Rome)- Tenacious, Brave and Loving is the title of a book published in electronic form by LAS and launched by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime. It contains more than nine hundred pages of the circular letters written by Fr Renato Ziggiotti, Fifth Successor of Don Bosco, to the Salesians in the period from 1952 to 1965. At the end of his mandate in 1965, when the Congregation was celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Don Bosco, he entrusted the leadership of the Congregation to Fr Ricceri, and became the first Rector Major emeritus.
"Readers will get to know the biographical profiles of numerous Salesians, “small and great”, Bishops and Provincials, clerics and brothers, founders and missionaries. The editor is Marco Bay, SDB, a teacher in the UPS. There are abundant endnotes and appendices, originally intended mainly for students and researchers in Salesian studies.
Getting to know Don Bosco more deeply, through the work and the inspiration of his successors, is a duty of love that becomes a real guarantee of fidelity in one’s life plan. With youthful enthusiasm the work of Don Bosco continues its timeless story in the treasure pervaded by the Spirit deeply embedded in everyone devoted to serving young people through an enthusiastic passion for education.”
The volume also contains statistical data on the administration of the Congregation, specific indices, keywords and a photo album with pictures taken from the Salesian Central Archive (ASC).
