(ANS - Madrid)- On 3 July volunteers from the multinational company JP Morgan shared their financial knowledge with young people on the First Professional Experience Programme organized by the Salesian Social Platforms.

The project is being run by the Pinardi Federation of Salesian Social Platforms and JP Morgan. It allows eighty young people without qualifications access to a diversified training programme in top level companies such as Grupo VIPS, KFC, Meliá, Madrid Airport Hilton or Parques Reunidos.

Many of the young people in the project are immigrants. Often they have difficulty with everyday operations like managing income and expenditure, getting a loan, understanding how the banks work and how to save. On 3 July the volunteers from JP Morgan helped young people to move in this environment.

Pinardi and J.P. Morgan launched this First Professional Experience Project in October of last year. The aim of the project is “to provide opportunities for the young people in our society who have fewer opportunities”, said Jesús Javier Llorente, President of the Pinardi Federation.

Young people in the project learn specific skills in their fields of training thanks to the partner companies. They also receive English lessons, financial education and other professional skills, thus improving their chances of gaining employment.

"Hilton Hopes" is one of the programmes that are part of the project. The fourth programme run by this project opened on 29 June. It is being run jointly by the Pinardi Federation and the Madrid Airport Hilton. The opening ceremony consisted of a charity dinner at the hotel to raise money for the programme to assist the families the Pinardi Federation works with.

Nine young people have received a diploma which certifies the training they have received in catering and hotel management. Last week this same group of students received a complementary lesson in financial education from JP Morgan.

Throughout the course of the experience the young people participating in the project are accompanied by the staff of the Pinardi Federation.
