(ANS - Vatican City) - One of the most significant events of this Year of Consecrated Life will take place in Rome from 15 to 19 September 2015. It is a gathering of young consecrated persons from all over the world with the motto: "Wake up the world! Gospel - Prophecy - Hope".
It is expected that several thousand young consecrated persons, both men and women, from around the world will take part. They will include members of Institutes of Pontifical Right as well as those of Diocesan Right, from pre-novitiate up to ten years after perpetual profession.
To encourage participation in the initiative, Archbishop José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM, Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CIVCSVA), has sent a letter to all Superior Generals. In it, among other things, he points out that the section for registration in the workshop is already available in five languages on the CIVCSVA website.
Registration for the meeting can be done on line before 30 June 2015.
Speaking on Vatican Radio, Cardinal Braz de Aviz, Prefect of CIVCSVA, quoted Pope Francis saying that the mission of consecrated persons is precisely to "wake up the world, so that the world may find life in Christ."
The Year of Consecrated Life, which began in Rome on 29-30 November, will end on World Day of Consecrated Life, 2 February 2016. There will be a series of Celebrations of Communion for consecrated persons and specific days for various forms of consecrated life, to be held in Rome from 26 January 2016 onwards.
