(ANS - Formosa) - Yesterday, 9 June, the Argentine news agency Formosa Noticias reported that two Salesian priests, Fr Adrian Botta and Fr Gabriel Ledesma, along with Salesian Brother Lucas Mautino, managed to convince a young man not to commit suicide when he was going to jump from the fifth floor of a building. "It was a gift from God to be able to help this young man," said Fr Botta to Radio QTH.
The Salesians who run the Church of Don Bosco in Formosa reached the place where the young man, little more than a teenager, was standing and they convinced him to go down with them. The young man’s difficult history, which was not reported out of respect for him - was what led him to take that terrible decision.
Down below, the fire brigade, police and professionals from SIPEC (Integral System for Provincial Emergencies and Disasters) had arrived on the scene after neighbours raised the alert.
News of the happy outcome of the incident began to spread through the social networks. However it should be remembered that the young man in question needs more specialized care. In fact he was taken by ambulance to a care centre, after spending a few minutes in prayer in the church. Some time ago he had been accommodated at Hogar Don Bosco.
