(ANS - Florence) - Sunday, May 24: At the end of the Mass at 10.30am, a large artistic panel designed by the artist Raffaele Del Savio, well known for designing the work of art "Maggio Fiorentino" (Florentine May), will be inaugurated on the occasion of the celebration of the feast of Mary Help of Christians and to commemorate the annual thanksgiving day for the completion of the parish catechetical-oratory year 2014 - 2015. The panel will be on display at the frontage of the Salesian Parish Church.

For the past 35 years Raffaele Del Savio has been the set designer and the director of the show “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” (The May Florence Musical Show) and now he has designed a large panel (10 X 2 meters), for the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco.The work of art will be inaugurated on Sunday, May 24 (2015) at the parish of the Salesians dedicated to St. Mary Mother of the Church in Torregalli (Italy).The panel at the entrance of the church, depicts also 40 children of the parish where were involved in the show "Don Bosco -the Musical".

Other events planned for the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco: Sunday, June 7, a full day of meetings and various events to show-case the presence ofDon Bosco today, will be held at the main city square and the New Commune auditorium of the city of Scandicci (Italy).

From Monday 22 June to Friday 17 July: All of the summer activities of the children will be set in reference to the human and Christian qualities of Don Bosco, with a proactive approach underlining his childhood and adolescence.The conclusion of the Children’s Summer Camp (which is set against the backdrop of a complex cookery camp, adapting to the feast of the “Elledici Educare” (Education to the Faith) will be celebrated with all the boys and their families around a giant birthday cake for Don Bosco lit up with 200 candles!
