(ANS – Milan) – for the 3rd week, the CASA DON BOSCO opened with a creative documentary film, titled “Without Children” – made with a motive of narrating the Salesian Educational experience, starting with St. John Bosco, but contextualising it to present day. Following the screening there was a sharing with Fr. Tarcisio Faoro, who is the protagonist in the documentary and Frs. Enrico Cassanelli and Fabrizio Marino, who did the script for the documentary. Fr. Tarcisio Faoro bears witness to an important fact that how much the teachings of Don Bosco are still relevant. In 1990 the Salesians opened a house in Florence, which in course of the years has been a strong support to lots of children in difficulty, to regain their hope and a balanced relationship.
Sunday, 17th May was a special feast day for the Salesian Institute of Don Bosco – a High School from Verona. The multimedia programme, staged by the students of the institute from Verona, presented the message, “Nourish the body, Educate the person and Build a dream”. It was a stimulus for reflection presented through 3 videos and a display. In the following days there were students who continued to be the protagonist, in the presentations of the CASA DON BOSCO, particularly in “Project Ice Cream” - an initiative of the collaboration between the Italian Centre for Salesian Works for Women(Ciofs), Piedmont and Gelatitalia. The principal objective of the project is to improve the link between the world of industry and Vocational Training through high level courses aimed at training competent persons in the field and use the knowledge that they have gained, not only for their personal development but for the entire professional field. The “project Gelato” took place between 18th and 20th May. There were presentations that were live, through use of multimedia and the availability of Ice Creams for tasting, prepared on the spot by students and teachers. On 21st May, at CASA DON BOSCO there were sports activities, to be protagonist of “We cherish sports! And we are a team for a better future” organised by PGS (Salesian Youth for Sports). It was done with the aim of reflecting on nutrition, the importance of teamwork and in general on the theme, how “Sports have an important place in Salesian activities”. The testimonies by some national champions of the Italy who participated in Volleyball tournament of World Master Games, enriched the programme.
The 3rd week in CASA DON BOSCO will conclude with an exhibition that will last for a whole week, from 22nd to 28th May. “L’afrique c’est chic” – organised by “Missione Giovani Fma Onlus” of FMA. An exhibition of articles made in six different art studios of Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo and Togo. Paintings, ceramics, fabrics, garments and toys have been made, thanks to the creative activities carried out in different youth centres involved in the project.
