(ANS - Milan) - The participation of the Salesian Family of Don Bosco started in the best way, on Friday, May 1, at the Expo2015. A week that will highlight the main issues that the Salesian Family wants to present during this World Exhibition: the choice of education and the leading role of young people.

After the May 1st inauguration, followed the four days of study on the Preventive System and its concrete manifestations in many realities of the world, with speakers such as Fr Bruno Ferrero, Director of the Italian Salesian Bulletin; Sr Reunita Borja, Councillor for Youth Ministry of the FMA; and Fr Guillermo Basañes, Councillor for the Missions.

The first week then proceeded to focus on the international aspect of the Salesians with the event held on Tuesday, May 5 dedicated to the experience that the Salesian Family has on a daily basis within the bodies of the United Nations in the promotion and protection of Human Rights. The speakers included, among others, Fr Thomas Brennan, SDB, the Salesian representative at the United Nations in New York; and Sr. Maria Grazia Caputo, FMA representative at the  Human Rights Office of the International Institute of Mary Help of Christians, in Geneva.

During these days however, the National Competition of Masters in the Professional Sectors is still going on, and tomorrow afternoon, May 8th, the young participants will have the opportunity to visit the Salesian pavilion and meet the companies sponsoring the competition, such as Fiat, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, Bosch, Sacchi and CNH Industrial.

Among the many visitors at CASA DON BOSCO, it was noted that there were several representatives of national and international institutions: Pier Carlo Padoan, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance, the Ambassador of Venezuela to the Holy See and Piero Fassino, the Mayor of Turin.

From May 9 to 15, it is scheduled to hold the event "Communicate to educate", a project organized by Multidea, a company inspired by the Salesians, created to offer jobs to talented youth and to promote initiatives and products of excellence for education.

And on May 16 another substantial event is the session "Without children. In every young person there is an access point of goodness: Some examples" that will meet up with Fr Domenico Ricca, SDB, chaplain of the juvenile prison in Turin; Fr Tarcisio Faoro, head of a family house in Florence; and a lay educator Marco Barnieri, animator of an education activity in the streets of Genoa.
