(ANS - Lima) - The third March for Life took place on Saturday 21 March. It was organized by the Archdiocese of Lima and led by the Cardinal Archbishop of the city, Juan Luis Cipriani. Delegations from Ayacucho, Piura and other places where the Salesian Family is present joined in defence of life: "Yes to life, no to abortion" was the motto on the banner of the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement.

The march took place a few days after the celebration of the Day of the Unborn and a few days before 25 March, the day of the Annunciation and of the Motherhood of Mary.

Salesian Youth Movement groups from Rimac, Brena, Magdalena del Mar, Callao and Chosica, joined their National Assistant, Fr Humberto Chavez, SDB, to say NO to abortion and defend the gift of life of the unborn. Cardinal Cipriani said on the occasion that "this generation is strong and the future of their country. We are a Peru that defends life, marriage and the family ", before announcing that the participants in the March for Life numbered over half a million people.

Children, youth and adults heard the message of support sent by Pope Francis, who invited everyone to "bear witness with courage and always proclaim the sanctity of every human being."

The Salesian Family gathered around St. John Bosco Institute of Ayacucho and joined the March for life. Children, youth and teenagers walked with enthusiasm and joy through the main streets of the city as far as the Plaza Mayor de Huamanga to witness to the defence of life ".
