(ANS - Rome) - The final act of this Year of the Bicentenary will be the largest ever gathering of young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), to be held in Turin and Colle Don Bosco from 11 to 16 August 2015, the exact date the 200th birthday of the Saint of Youth. The website for that event has been on line for the past few days and from tomorrow, 31 January, it will be open for registration.
This great world gathering of SYM will serve to bring Don Bosco in the midst of his beloved young people and will be an important opportunity for dialogue, prayer and sharing for all participants (aged 16 to 30) expected to number several thousand.
The theme of the gathering is that of the Strenna for 2015, "Like Don Bosco, with young people and for young people." It is an opportunity to share, learn and look forward to the experience of SYM, reinforcing the 'identity of a movement that is growing and expanding in various continents, always with a view to the commitment of the members to "do good to their companions."
To spread news of the gathering and to encourage participation, the Salesian Department of Youth Ministry and the corresponding Sector of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians have jointly set up a website which has been available for the past few days at www.symdonbosco2015.com.
The website is available in the three official languages of the meeting (Italian, English and Spanish). It contains information on the detailed programme of activities and invites young people to participate as volunteers or to make themselves available as singers and instrumentalists for the celebrations.
Enrolment for SYM DON BOSCO 2015 will take place from tomorrow, 31 January, the Feast of Don Bosco, until 31 May.
