(ANS - Rome) - The Expo Milano 2015 needs the participation of all Salesians. CNOS-FAP is the National Centre for Salesian Works and Professional Training and Updating. It sees this event as an important opportunity to make the students of the Vocational Training Centres reflect and become aware of our responsibility towards the planet. For this reason it has launched a national competition for pupils of the Vocational Training Centres to devise models of good practice in the areas of energy, food, water, recycling and the environment.
Expo 2015 offers an important opportunity to propose a measured and sober way of life that will lead to sustainable development. The aim of CNOS-FAP is to awaken in the students an awareness of their surroundings, of how life depends on the environmental resources and our habits and, therefore, what we need to do if we are to be responsible for the future, our own and that of the Earth.
To enter the competition the students enrolled in the Vocational Training Centres must submit their entries by 31 May: literary compositions / art / music, interviews / documentary / video, artefacts, traditional dishes etc. They can also present a typical dish by making a video on the preparation of the dish and where the ingredients are to be found.
The promoters of the initiative suggest that entrants take account also of the richness represented by the presence in the Centres of young people of different cultures.
Entries will be judged by an examining board composed of representatives of the world of culture, entertainment and Vocational Training. The winners will be invited to present their work at EXPO Milano 2015.
