(ANS - Medellín)- The Salesian "Ciudad Don Bosco" in Medellin received an award for the quality of its contribution to Education for Work and Human Development. "Ciudad Don Bosco” is recognized and certified by the assurance quality system, as well as various international standards, including the Columbus Technical Standards 5555 and 5581.

ASENOF is a national organization of training centres for work and human development. It provides updates, training and ongoing information to all its members.

In the past year Ciudad Don Bosco has issued certificates of Technical Competency  to a total of 704 people (462 men and 242 women between 17 and 35 years old), in the following courses: Graphic Arts, Industrial and Residential Electricity, Machine Operator for industrial production, Automotive Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, Agriculture and furniture manufacture. All graduates come from a background of limited resources and low economic, with resulting shortcomings in basic needs such as housing, food, study, leisure, health ...

Over the past 10 years Ciudad Don Bosco has relied on more than 350 companies from various sectors of the economy that have taken on its graduates as trainees and apprentices, companies that believe in the human and technical education given by the Salesian institution.

At present, Ciudad Don Bosco and the Don Bosco Foundation have many past pupils employed in the areas of administration and production, who testify to the personal success of individuals and the educational institution.

The ceremony of recognition was held as part of the Third International Congress and 8th National meeting of ASENOF in Bogota, which dealt with new systems of vocational training, the supply chain, and international mobility.
