(ANS - Havana) – On Wednesday 14 May, the Salesian Centre for Social Communication presented a concert called "A Tribute to Cinema" at the Hall of the Karl Marx Theatre in Havana. The concert was produced in conjunction with the Ballari Studio and Productions, with the support and patronage of the Polish Embassy in Cuba as part of the week of Polish Culture.
The concert was a tribute to three famous Polish musicians - Krzysztof Komeda, Wojciech Kilar and Zbigniew Preisner - and their soundtracks. This time the songs were transported to the jazz music scene with arrangements by young Cuban musicians.
The concert took place under the direction of Maestro Yoandy Argudín, who also worked on the musical arrangements with Michel Herrera and Emir Santacruz.
The instrumentalists were: Yoandy Argudín (Trombone), Ruy Adrian López- Nussa Torres (Drums), Adel Gonzalez (Congas and others), Emir Santacruz (Tenor Sax), Rolando Luna (piano), Michel Herrera (Alto and Soprano Saxophone), Aniel Someilan (Bass), Lina Soroza (Baritone Saxophone and Vocals), Evelin Suárez (Flute) and Harold Madrigal ( Trumpet)
