(ANS - Santa Clara)- On 3 December representatives of almost all the Salesian foundations in Cuba met in the church of Santa Clara del Carmen for the first ordinary session of the national team of coordinators and managers of Social Communication.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the address recently delivered by Pope Francis to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, which anticipates the Message to Social Communicators that the Holy Father will release on 24 January 2014, Feast of Saint Francis de Sales, patron of journalists.

During the day the animator of the team, Salesian Brother José Luis Orozco, and the coordinator, Mr. Daniel Carlos Urquijo, evaluated the work done by each of the houses and presented the programme of activities for the remainder of the pastoral year.

It was also announced that Mabel Cabada from the Salesian community of Víbora was the winner of the competition to find the Hymn for the Bicentenary, organized by the Province of the Antilles to which Cuba belongs. The anthem will represent not only Cuba but also the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, in the Inter-American Competition.

The national team has initiated and accomplished various initiatives to ensure that Cuba continues to prepare for the year 2015, with the aim of "bringing Don Bosco to the streets."
